L-DACS1 is an aeronautical communication system utilizing OFDM technology with frequency division duplex configuration. L-DACS1 mainly provides communication service for Air Traffic Control(ATC) and Airline Operation Control(AOC) for aircrafts. L-DACS1 has the advantage of high spectral efficiency and anti-fading characteristic, so it draws widespread attention from industry and academia. And it is considered as an important technology for civil aviation communication in the future.In this paper, float point algorithms of L-DACS1 are proposed. On this basis, forward link receiver is implemented using a software radio development board. The main work of this paper verifies the correctness of this system, and contributes to the application process of L-DACS1. Furthermore, it promotes China's civil aviation communication industry. Therefore,the design and implementation of L-DACS1 have great significance.The main work of this paper is as follows: Firstly, according to L-DACS1 system definition proposal, the key algorithms of forward link receiver are proposed. And the performance of the algorithms is verified by Matlab simulation.Secondly, this paper proposes the detailed design of foward link receiver by using FPGA and DSP. Implementation process of each module is presented. Furthermore, the programming for FPGA and DSP is completed.In addition, Modelsim simulation results are provided to verify the correctness of the receiver.Finally, L-DACS1 forward link receiver is implemented by using a software radio development board with Virtex-5 FPGA and TMS320C6713 DSP chip. Decoding results of the receiver are observed by using online logic analyzer Chipscope. And the results verify the correctness of L-DACS1.
