With the rapid growth of communication traffic of air-ground data, the capacity of air-ground data communication system becomes insufficient. Thanks to its characteristic of high spectral efficiency and good anti-jamming, L-Band Digital Aeronautical Communication System 1(L-DACS1) is regarded as the candidate standard of digital aeronautical communication system of next generation. In this paper, according to L-DACS1 system protocol specifications, the floating-point algorithms for the physical layer receiver of the reverse link are implemented. Furthermore, the hardware implementation of the physical layer reverse link receiver is accomplished with FPGA. The main content of this paper is as follows:Firstly, the protocol specifications of L-DACS1 system are analyzed. The transmission mode, technical parameters and frame structure of physical layer are also introduced.Secondly, the floating-point algorithms of L-DACS1 system reverse link receiver are simulated with MATLAB. Moreover, the comparion results are obtained by applying the algorithms to different channels models.Thirdly, the hardware implementation scheme of the physical layer of broadband aeronautical communication system reverse link receiver is described in this paper. Moreover,the concrete design method and implementation process of each receiver module are presented in detail.
