Research On The Renewal Strategy Of Nanjing Sipailou Under The Perspective Of Urban Informality

As the urban construction of China comes from incremental to stock, the new-type urbanization has entered to a new normal, the urban informality based on the bottom-up relationship of community life between supply and demand starts striking, such as mobile vendors and spontaneous buildings.The study choose urban informality as the research angle of view, which means city individuals or specific social groups change the completion of the city's environmental from bottom to up based on the demand of life.The study select the typical living block of the city, Nanjing Sipailou, as the research object, and based on community research and field investigation, colecting a large amount of first-hand information, trying to systematically study the growth characteristics of Sipailou and the organization rules of spatial carrier of Sipailou, then discusses the renew of Sipailou under the urban informal perspective.Firstly, the study top-down reviews the three historical stage which directly affect space pattern of Sipailou, and constructs the framework of Sipailou's construction regularization; then, the study preliminary explored the vitality of Sipailou's informality, from the perspective of bottom-up,with case study of commercial market, typical streets and residential conversion. Secondly, the research shows that the distribution characteristics of the informal space in Sipailou is that informal space is surrounded by formal space, and permeates into streets in a fishbone shape. It is believed that the informality shows the wisdom of space usage, flexible conversion of function,and in a stable state under the supervision. Also, the informal space carrier follows the existing property units and combines freely within certain spatial modulus, and to meet the bottom line of survival as the rules of self adjustment of the invisible logic; what's more, the informality carrior has positive role in shaping pleasant urban scale and improve diversity and urban vitality,but has the negative effects of having confusion disorder and difficult to manage. Subsequently, this paper put forward the renew strategy of Sipailou under informality perspective as community overall planning,establish incentive and restraint mechanismas and an action plan of public participation. Finally, the research concise the stock planning method of the homogeneous living blocks like Sipailou, propose the inspiration that the stock planning of our country can take urban informal growth as the bottom-up perspective, life blocks of stock planning method, put forward, attach importance to the usage of the self-organizing disciplinarian of urban informality.
