Research On Strategy Of Urban Public Space Design Under The Perspective Of Urban Informality

With the rapid process of urbanization,modern city forms a series of large scale space,and centralized regular urban public space,based on urban planning control from the top down.Meanwhile,there are circumstances in which urban public space lacks of vitality and vigor,are due to ignoring the diversity of citizens' social life,the uncertainty and the differences.Citizen reshape urban public space with bottom-up,informal,spontaneous activities,leading to informal phenomenon formed among city.From the perspective of urban “ informality”,this article studies onphysical carrier and spatial carrier of informal phenomenon,bottom-up organization,and major participants.Building urban public space planning strategies under urban “ informality ”perspective,which will be a useful addition tourban public space planning right now.Based on survey on science and research on the spot,this article analyses the formality and informality of urban public space in GuangZhou province,and generalizein informal public space's feature,rules and logic of organization,majority involved,etc.we summarize the problems and enlightenments of informal public space by contrasting.This article tries to explore the aims and problems of urban public space,discuss theThe paper is divided into five chapters:Chapter ?: Introduction.From the perspective of urban “ informality”,this part introduces the background,defines the related concepts between "informal" and "urban informality",and research on informal public spaces.Chapter ?: Theoretical Studies on Informality.This part sums up theoretical origin of the "urban informality",of which we defines the urban informality content,core elements,value judgments and so on.Chapter ?: Observations on the Informal Phenomenon of Guangzhou Public Space.Through comparative analysis on investigating and observation on Formal and Informal Phenomenon of Guangzhou Public Space,this part explores informal public space's material space carrier characteristics,rules and logic of organization,majority involved,and concludes inspirations and problems.Chapter ?: Building design strategy from the perspective of urban “ informality”.Based on the theoretical research and analysis of observation on the phenomena,this part not only proposes targets and principles for designing,but also defines elements of the urban public space design,changes of the analysis methods and the application of the theory,and researchs design strategy of urban public spaces from the perspective of urban “ informality” as well.Chapter ?: Conclusion.Summarize the full aiticle and the issues that need further discussion.
