Inland waterway transport always places a very important role in the economic and social development of Zhejiang Province. On one hand, the inland waterway transport keeps a continuous and vigorous demand due to the economic and social development stage of Zhejiang Province, especially the demand for upgrading and networking of channels; on the other hand, the transport development is increasingly restricted by the natural resource conditions of our province. Because of these two factors, the development of channels in our province must follow the approach of energy saving and efficient utilization.Based on the analysis of factors which is including actualities features planning and imose restrictions on construction of the inland restricted channels in Zhejiang province and size technical standards and specifications about inland channels both home and abroad,according to currenting standards calculate the channel scale in research area and gets the base size of channel which is up to standard.By means of comprehensive study methods integrating theoretical analysis, numerical simulation, ship model test and full scale ship test, the relationship between the dimensions of inland restricted Class III channel and various factors such as ship type, flow, navigation speed, navigation style, type of cross section, navigation resistance, ship squat, drift angle, ship wave, flow velocity near bank and ship's maneuverability is studied extensively, and new methods for calculation and optimization of relevant technical parameters like dimensions of channel and elevation of bank protection etc. are put forward under the prerequisite of meeting the requirements of safety navigation and cargo turnover and taking into consideration navigation efficiency, environmental protection (energy saving, pollutants reducing and eco-environment protection) and construction cost as well as social influence etc,achieve solving the problem of resource(particulary land resource) rare, energy saving and pollutants reducing,investment reducing,advancing project, sci-tech advancement'aim.At last,based on actual case,test effectiveness and feasibility of the research findings.
