Mandala Architectures which arise in Tibetan Buddhism monastery and sce nic area of East China recent years are new architecture pattern for Mandala.It believes that these Mandala Architectures is translated from Tangka and Mandala model.Identity form history and ideals of construction are obstruction to development of the new construction type.However,the study on Mandala has focused on the meanings of pattern and the traditional manifestation,which have created the huge gap between architectural practice and theory of Mandala.In the course of conception,grasping the distinction between Mandala Architectures and other architectural styles and recognizing the essence of Mandala and architectures are policies of the prime importance.Since second half o f the thirteenth century,Tibetan Buddhism which interacted with Han Buddhism played major role in establishment of Chinese culture.Up to present,there are no studies which analyze the Mandala in the perspective of architecture arts both home and abroad.Mandala originated in Vedic Age of ancient India and was represented by various forms.Finally,the Mandala developed into an important implement in the course of study in Tantra.Meanwhile,architectures in model of Sumeru Mountain were misunderstood as Mandala by public.Based on the precise concept,the Mandala format in a ncient India and monastery in pattern of Sumeru were considered as similarity of Mandala.Constitution of space is the Primary problem in the design of Mandala Architectures.There are three spatial pattern created by Mandala Architectures which have completed construction.The N yingmapa mother monastery put two systems of statues together.Other deities were added to the systems of Kalachakra in Rangtang country.In addition,the deities were arranged with exhibition in Mandala from Wuxi.These spatial patterns demonstrate the conflict between divinity and humanity of architectural space in Mandala.It is the conflict that the Primary problem in development of Mandala Architectures.Ornament of Mandala Architectural is rich of religious signification a nd should be designed in accordance with the tantric ritual.To gasp the essence of delineation of two-dimensional Mandala is the measure with efficiency.For example,the memorial archway in Tangka of Mandala manifest abundant message of Architectural physique and be regard as interlink between two-dimension and construction.Appearance of rooftop is consistent with the form in central of two-dimensional Mandala.In brief,the conception of Mandala Architectures should meet the regularity of aesthetics and requirement of tantric theory.
