Mandala is an ancient form whose prototype can be found in different cultures, starting from the theory of Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung, the mandala is a product of human collective unconscious, and the ancient mandala image has been firstly done in the Old Stone Age. With the development of modern physics, there has a clear basic point: the world is a whole. Tibetan Buddhist point of view is: every existence contains the universe. The so-called mandala art is actually a micro world, which is the ideal representation mode of a polybasic cosmology, world view of Buddhism and Buddhist of the world. In the late 1980 s, the famous Japanese architect and architectural theorist Kisho Kurokawa proposed the “symbiosis idea”, and regarded it as the core of his architectural design theory. “Symbiosis “is the concept of ecology, which embodies the concept of “living together” in ecology. Hindu philosophy's theory of “absolutely Advaita “, Vedanta school of thought, “the main object thought”of dragon tree, and the concept of “empty” in the Mahayana Buddhism in east philosophy, is all the origins of the "symbiosis theory". the focus of the “Symbiotic thought” is from the “main object thought” in east philosophy, which is the bible that beyond the modernism and dualism of symbiotic thought, and Buddhism is completely abandon the idea of dualism, think that everything in the universe depend on each other, in the midst of an eternal change, circles in the mandala painting expounds the idea very clearly. Therefore, from the Angle of philosophy, using the concept “space of symbiosis” to understand the mandala art is a kind of thinking that is very reasonable. This article is Taking development of Tibetan Buddhism as the background, and standing in the Angle of the symbiosis idea to analyzes the scheme of the mandala art, trying to combine new symbiotic thought, art history of Tibetan Buddhism and aesthetic art forms to analysis the aesthetic characteristics of mandala schema, and observe and discuss the mandala schema of symbiosis of metaphor in space. The research focus on the resonance of the idea”origin” in Buddhism and“symbiosis" in Oriental philosophy which represented by the mandala art. It will explore the part of the “idea of symbiosis” which is reflected by the art design, composition, and color and so on in mandala art from the perspective of symbiotic thought.
