Research On The Development And Performance Of Modern Wood Construction

Wood construction has a long history,but has gradually declined by the influence of various factors.In recent years,benefiting from the popularization of sustainable development concept and enhancement of wood processing technology,wood construction regained wide applications with a modern attitude all over the world.Modern wood construction owns the incomparable advantage on low carbon,energy conversation and resource utilization compared to other materials,and it has a qualitative leap on the material properties and structural properties compared to traditional wood construction.Modern wood construction has become a beautiful landscape in modern building stage.Due to the exploration and research work on modern wood structure is relative late in our country,there are still significant weakness in the practical development of modern wood constructions until now.Thus,research on the development and performance of modern wood constructions has important practical significance.Through the research,modern wood construction could be better understood,the development of related construction industry in China could be promoted,the diversity of the modern wood construction practice could upgraded and improved as well.In this thesis,two main points including the development and performance of modern wood constructions are addressed.Through summarizing the materials,structure and performance of modern wooden construction,wood construction under new era and high‐tech standards were researched with supplement of corresponding outstanding case illustrations.The excellent characteristics of modern wood construction are then shown in different aspects with the aim to deepen the understanding of modern wooden architecture and provide practical meaningful suggestions for the design and construction development.The thesis includes five chapters and give conclusions.The chapters and conclusions are introduced briefly as followings.Chapter 1: Introduction.The research object and research scope are given with the background and significance of modern wood construction research.The research status of modern wood construction at home and abroad are reviewed.Research methodology and framework of the thesis are given.Chapter 2: The evolution of wooden constructions.Narrative on the development process of wooden architecture is given.Firstly,the appearance,development,construction and performance of traditional wood architecture are given;The rise and decline of traditional wooden architecture,the rise of modern wooden architecture are addressed;The rise of modern wood construction stems from sustainable development concept,the development of modern wood processing technology and structure systems.Chapter 3: Research on the construction material of modern wood architecture.The research focuses on the material properties of wood,processing technologies and productions types.Setting the advantages and disadvantages of wood applications in building and the cultural connotation of wood as basic starting point,the materials foundations of modern wood construction are analyzed from the progress of wood processing technologies and types.Chapter 4: Research on the structure and tectonic node of modern wood construction morphology.Firstly,the development of construction technology on modern wood architecture is analyzed.The structure types and construction features of modern wooden architecture are then parsed.Chapter 5: Research on the performance of modern wood construction.The research focuses on the performance characteristics of modern wooden architecture,and is carried out from multiple angles including exploring the natural properties of wood,exploring the structure potential,green ecology property,blend with the natural environment and inheritance of local culture.Conclusion: The challenges and opportunities of modern wooden architecture are summarized.The development and innovation demands of modern wooden architecture are figured out.
