Mixed-car model assembly has the features: high flexibility of production facilities, the similar process and the multi-skilledworkers. By arranging the reasonable sequence of different automobile products on mixed-car model assembly,manufacturer can get more models produce together on one assembly, and response personalized needs of customers quickly. Based on mixed-car model assembly of SW automotive company's workshop, this paper does research about the key technology of cars sequencing of assembly line production.About optimization of cars production sequence on mixed-car model assembly,there are main three goals: material consumption smoothly, the min-cost when adjusting the car model and minimizing the workstations' work overloads. Material consumption smoothly means the consumption of parts or material change little.This paper is based on minimizing material consumption's fluctuation, combined with mixed-car model assembly of SW automotive company's workshop, and building the improved production optimization mathematical model, then calculate the model with Toyota's target tracing algorithm, simulating by Flexsim.The main contents are as follows:1. This paper introduces the current status of production scheduling in mixed-car model assembly domestic and abroad, and the briefly concept of mixed flow assembly, as well as scheduling problem of mixed-car model assembly;2. This paper introduces the definition of balance material consumption and the reason, and also gives the mathematical model based on the real condition. Taking mixed-car model assembly line of SW automotive company as an example.This paper using mathematical optimization model to solve the best result and also design an interface which can get the best sequence quickly by VC++ 6.0;3. Using Flexsim software to simulate and analysis mixed-car model assembly about SW company actual production orders and improved sequence. The flexism result indicates that the improved sequence can make the material consumption more smoothly.
