Research On The Translucent Surface Design Of Architecture

Architectural surface is a significant part of the building that should not beignored. In recent years, as an emerging architectural form of epidermis, translucentarchitectural surface has been paid more attention because of its rich artisticexpression and research value. Architects both at home and abroad have begun tofocus to the design of architectural surface and continuing on its translucencyinterpretation of the exploration.This paper takes the translucent surface of architecture as the object of research,basing on information from surveys and researches at the previous stage andanalyses of typical cases. The paper starts from analyzing basic concept and putsforward the design strategy summary and design methods. Following the researchapproach and logical framework mentioned above, the paper conducts deep andthorough research. And it cards and summarizes the material, presenting patternsand design contents of the translucent surface that applied in some domestic andoverseas typical cases.The basic parsing of translucent surface of architecture illustrates the definitionand classification of the surface, the presenting characteristics, design contents anddesign principles from macro perspectives. It explains the presenting characteristicsin three aspects including architectural entity, space and surface and discusses thetranslucent materials, texture and construction in details.
