In modern times, under the impact and influence of the complexity science andDeleuze philosophy, architectural form design and aesthetic requirements haveundergone some changes, that is, instead of being keen on the proportion, symmetryand simple geometric shapes in the traditional Euclidean geometry, architects arestarting to pursue nonlinear complex surface form in design. At the same time, theconstant development and improvement of digital technology provides advancedplatform and tools for the design and construction of the complex surface form.Architects are no longer satisfied with the virtual complex curved surface model incomputer, but expect the implementation in the real physical world. The research onArchitectural Geometry and Structural Morphology provides the theoretical basisand technical support for the design, optimization and construction of complexsurface form. What's more, it has become one of the hot research issues inarchitectural field. In this context, the article perspectives on the implementation of complexsurface form in the contemporary architectural design, and put the links in theprocess as the object of study. Firstly, the article introduces the trends ofarchitectural complex surface form design and the development of digitalconstruction technology, at the same time, it expounds the problems in thecontemporary architectural realization. Secondly, after the basic analysis separatelyfrom the aspects of development trends, features, and tools for the architecturaldesign of complex surface form realization, it puts forward the basic procedure andlinks of the process. Thirdly, based on the theories of Architectural Geometry andStructural Morphology, it proposes methods based on geometric transformations,free-form and physical form-finding to construct complex surface, and perspectiveproposes the corresponding optimization strategies. Finally, according to the units'types and the discrete constraints of complex surface elements in contemporaryarchitectural design, it puts forward two discrete approaches which are top-down and bottom-up. And moreover, it explains and illustrates sorts of the supportstructure and the connection methods between the epidermal units of the complexsurface.
