The Study On Application Of Da Bu Jiang Patchwork Embroidery In Clothing Design

Patchwork,a kind of craft which pieces cloth of different shapes together,was developed in the days of material scarcity and has practical utility functions.As people’s aesthetic appreciation improved,patchwork developed from simple split to consciously designing and comprehensive innovation in color,craft technique and formative arts.Therefore,patchwork gradually developed into a manifestation of fork art.Da Bu Jiang Patchwork Embroidery was included in the second wave of Hunan Chenzhou nonmaterial cultural heritage list.It was originated in the Ming dynasty,prevailed in the Qing dynasty and The Republic of China.It uses rags and used clothes with different colors as raw material,presents rural flavor and shows people’s understanding of the world and longings of a bright future.Da Bu Jiang Patchwork Embroidery uses flowers,grass,insects,birds and fish as its theme,and it reflects people’s wisdom and great creativity of the southern region.Taken Da Bu Jiang Patchwork Embroidery as the research object,and using the method of researching,comparing test and the survey procedure,this paper studies Da Bu Jiang Patchwork Embroidery ’ s practical use,aesthetic characteristics,historical value,cultural value and aesthetic value,analyses the cause of Da Bu Jiang Patchwork’s decline,and discovers its problems in innovative development.Through applied research of Da Bu Jiang Patchwork Embroidery,the paper proposes some measures for the future development of Da Bu Jiang Patchwork Embroidery,and also suggests some lessons for other intangible cultural heritage.This article is divided into five parts: Chapter one serves as an introduction,where the author introduces the significance,research status in China and abroad,key points and difficulties of research,method,etc.Chapter two is the research of the history and present situation of Da Bu Jiang Patchwork Embroidery,including its origin,development,present situations and problems.Chapter three is the study of classification,symbolic beauty,cultural characteristics,technological characteristic of Da Bu Jiang Patchwork Embroidery and comparative study with patchwork embroidery of other areas.Chapter four is the application of Da Bu Jiang Patchwork Embroidery in the clothing design,including the application practice and case analysis.Chapter five serves as a conclusion of the whole essay and also provide possible plans for its heritage transmission.This paper is a preliminary exploration in the research of Da Bu Jiang Patchwork Embroidery.We hope to provide theoretical guidance and practical exploration for the works of Da Bu Jiang Patchwork Embroidery.
