At present, knitted fabric takes up an increasing larger market share in the field of technical textile, which has been the new hot topic about the development in the field of technical textile. And the market share that the three-dimensional fashioned knitted fabric takes up in the field of technical textile is becoming larger and larger, because that the knitting process is flexible, the fabric structures and shapes are diverse, different yarns can be used in the same structure, the fabric can be shaped up after knitted so that the processes to tailor and sew are avoided, this can result in the reducing of wastage and effects of fabric properties. Nowadays, a lot of countries around the world are developing different three-dimensional fashioned fabrics to apply in the field of technical textile, computerized flat knitting machine is widely used because fashioned fabrics can be knitted.This paper presents the knitting technologies and methods of some typical three-dimensional technical knitted fabrics, such as different tubular fabrics,hemispherical fabrics, three-dimensional fashioned seat covers, three-dimensional fashioned backrest covers, based on the computerized flat knitting machine and its pattern design system L-ONE with the knitting principle of three-dimensional fashioned knitted fabrics. The knitting process, the design for pattern and the knitting parameters were stated, and some methods to increase knitting efficiency based on the pattern design were also expounded. Moreover, the knitting technologies of weft insertion and three-dimensional fashioned knitted fabrics were combined to produce three-dimensional fashioned technical knitted fabrics with weft inserted structure, so that the fabric properties can be improved and the new idea to develop new structures for three-dimensional technical knitted fabrics was put forward. In addition, some tests on three kinds of yarns were done for choosing to knit different three-dimensional knitted fabrics according to different needs, including tensile strength and friction properties test.Some comparative analysis on bursting properties, stitch uniformity and the yarn tension of the three-dimensional fashioned knitted fabrics were done to summarize some factors which have significant effects. The level of these factors were adjusted and changed to improve the fabric properties, and some ways were put forward to improve the properties and the loop uniformity of three-dimensional fashioned technical knitted fabrics, thus we can decrease yarn-breaking, enhance mechanical properties of fabrics, improve the aesthetic and quality of these knitted fabrics. This investigation takes a positive effect on the design, knitting and application of three-dimensional fashioned technical knitted fabrics. |
