In the era of "public entrepreneurship, peoples innovation", various universities rely on college students' practice innovation center, engineering training center, experimental teaching demonstration center, virtual simulation experimental teaching center, professional laboratory, off-campus practice base and so on, to promote the construction of the applied university, focus on improving the scientific literacy of undergraduates and provide high-tech achievements and high-end talent for building an innovative country. Because of the particularity of national education, to explore suitable training mode of chemical undergraduates' scientific literacy is an important and realistic issue.The methods of literature analysis, questionnaire, case interviews, experience summary and system theory have been adopted by us in this thesis to analyze the significance and theoretical basis of cultivating undergraduates' scientific literacy. The study includes the cognition of scientific literacy's cultivation, the actual situation of undergraduates participating in scientific research and the university's support for scientific research. Through investigating some teachers and students of Minzu University of China, South-central University for Nationalities, Southwest University for Nationalities and Northwest University for Nationalities, we find some problems in the current cultivating system. The students' knowledge base is weak, the enthusiasm of participating in scientific research is not high. Teachers'task is arduous, the guidance of undergraduates participating in scientific research is not enough. The environment of scientific research is poor, the management mechanism is incomplete.Combining with the development trend of China's chemical industry in the thirteenth five-year plan and summarizing the successful experience which reflecting diversity, systemic, initiative, usability in domestic and overseas well-known universities, we analyze influence factors about cultivating scientific literacy, including teachers' scientific research ability, innovative credit assessment, experimental conditions, management mechanism and exchange platforms. On this basis, we set up a new mode. Firstly, modular courses include general basis, theoretical knowledge, professional skill, scientific research practice and independent elective course. The experiment courses are divided into five modules, containing ?, ?, III, mid-level and high-level experimental chemistry. Secondly, realizing interactive teaching by theme discussion type, case selection type, problem induction type, multidimensional thinking type. Thirdly, forming a diversified pattern in scientific research subject, thinking, form and platform. Fourthly, improving management standardization by implementing management responsibility, providing guidance for the whole research process, strengthening constraint mechanism and optimizing assessment management approach. Meanwhile, the corresponding evaluation system is designed. It takes comprehensive ability, practical ability and innovation ability as the first grade assessment indicator. In terms of optimizing experimental chemistry's assessment methods, we should diversify the forms, strengthen experimental process, give consideration to the experimental attitude and focus on the experimental report. Finally, relying on the cases of research-oriented teaching and extracurricular research activity, the effective cultivating mode of scientific literacy get expounded.
