On The Modern Urban Citizen's Ecological Literacy And Cultivating

With the constantly advancing of the urbanization and the improvement of people's living standard, the urban ecological and environmental problems have become a matter to which the human beings have to pay attention. As the key force of the city, urban citizen play an important role in solving the urban ecological and environmental problems. At the same time, the whole city's civilization degree also depends to a high degree on urban citizen's ecological literacy level. Cultivating and enhancing urban citizen's ecological literacy have important theoretical significance and realistic importance to build a resource-conserving and environment-friendly society and ecological civilization.This thesis starts with the ecological problems which the city faces, and then discusses some theories of ecological literacy. Based on this, analyze the current situation of modern urban citizen's ecological literacy as well as the existent problems and reasons, discusses mainly the cultivation of urban citizen's ecological literacy.In the first part, this thesis makes a definition of urban citizen and presents an analysis of a series of ecological questions appear in the modern city. By combining with these problems, it analyzes the important effect of urban citizen participation in urban environmental treatment, and then it expounds the important realistic significance of cultivating urban citizen's ecological literacy.In the second part, this thesis discusses the connotation and composition of urban citizen's ecological literacy, proposes that ecological literacy is formed by people's cultivation acquired and positive influences of surroundings; it is the sum of knowledge, awareness, emotion and behavior about people's living environment. This thesis also analyzes the basic composition of ecological literacy:ecological knowledge literacy, ecological ethics literacy, ecological emotion literacy and ecological behavior literacy.In the third part, this thesis first gives a detailed analysis on the current situation of modern urban citizen's ecological literacy; it indicates that urban citizens have a certain ecological consciousness of suffering, ecological desire for knowledge and ecological perceptivity. By making a questionnaire of urban citizen's ecological literacy, doing a questionnaire survey and giving analysis of investigation results, this thesis probes the main problems of urban citizen's ecological literacy, such as, they lack ecological knowledge, have a fuzzy ecological ethics view, lack strong ecological emotion, lack ecological behavior ability and so on. Then it analyzes the reasons of these problems, such as, ecological education has some shortages, government guidance has some shortages, citizen's ability has some shortages and so on. In the fourth part, according to the foregoing introduction of the conception and current situation of urban citizen's ecological literacy, together with the analysis of these problems, this thesis put forward some cultivation countermeasures. This is the most important content. First, exerting the leading role of government. Second, giving full play to the educating and guiding function of the community. Once again, strengthening school ecological education at different levels, of which include three categories:primary school ecological education, middle school ecological education and university school ecological education. Last but not least, making great efforts to cultivate urban citizen's ecological behavior, this includes two aspects:fostering urban citizen's ecological living style and advocating ecological consumption.
