Kuche is located in the middle of the Tianshan Mountains in Xinjiang,the northern margin of the Tarim Basin.In terms of geographical division,the vegetation in this region belongs to the warm temperate shrub and subshrub desert area of Xinjiang.The characteristics of the altitude gradients on the flora of seed plants of Kuche mountain in the area of plant germplasm resources and ecosystem diversity,and plant resources of domestication,cultivation and utilization is very important.Based on field studies and relevant literature,the Vertical distribution characteristics of the flora in Kuche were systematically analyzed.Results showed there were approximately 960 species of seed plants belonging to 78 families and 376 genera in Kuche.Among these,there were 9 species of Gymnosperm belonging to 3 families and 3genara.There were 951 species of Angiosperm belonging to 75 families and 373 genara.The total number of families indicated that the highest peak at the elevation with 1600~1800 m.The total number of genera indicated that the highest peak at the elevation with 1800~1900 m.The total number of species showed that the highest peak at the elevation with 1900~2000 m,there were 59 families,230 genera,478 species.From the altitude with 2200~2300 m,the number of seed plants family,genus,species showed a decreasing trend with increasing altitude,and the distribution curve showed an unimodal peak distribution structure.North temperatelements were dominant in famil and genera floristic composition.In vertical gradients,a peak of temperate distribution type appeared in 1800-1900 m(including 20 families),from the altitude gradient with 2800-2900 m showed a decreasing trend,to 3600~3700 m was the lowest(including 6 families);The temperate distribution peak of the genus appeared in 1900-2000 m,and then decreased with the increase of altitude.There are 44 species in the mountain area of Kuche Province,and there are only about 157 kinds of plants in the investigation.We use the TWINSPAN vegetation quantity classification method to classify these 44 plots,and classify the types of the14 communities,Form.Tamarix ramosissima;Form.Sympegma regelii+Kalidium foliatum;Form.Caraganaspp.;Form.Ceratoideslatens;Form.Sarcozugiumxanthoxulon;Form.Reaumuriasoongorica+Caraganaacanthophylla.;Form.Nitraria sphaerocarpa;Form.Myricariasquamosal;Form.Rosalaxa;Form.Gentianellaturkestanorum;Form.El ymusdahuricus;Form.Picea schrenkiana;Form.Carex sp.;Form.Pentaphylloidesparvifolia.The species diversity index of plant life type plants in Kuche mountainous area was slightly different along the altitudinal gradient.On the whole,the shrub layer and herb layer species richness and species diversity index showed the bimodal curve structure on an altitudinal gradient,namely with the increase of altitude increased first and then decreased,and then increased and then decreased,has appeared in the two peak.Two high peak value of shrub species richness index respectively at an altitude of 1800 ~ 1900 m and 2000 ~ 2100 m,the herb layer species richness index were at an altitude of 2100 ~ 2200 m and 2600 ~ 2700 m;peaks of shrub species Shannon-Wiener index respectively at an altitude of 2100 ~ 2200 m and 2400 ~2500m,but the herb layer species of the two peak at an altitude of 2100 ~ 2200 m and2500 ~ 2600m;two peaks of shrub species Simpson index respectively at an altitude of 2100 ~ 2200 m and 2700 ~ 2800 m,and the two peak species respectively at an altitude of 1800 ~ 1900 m and 2700 ~ 2800m;two a peak value of evenness index of shrub layer species are at an altitude of 2000 m ~ 2100 m and 2400 m ~ 2500 m,and the two peak value of evenness index of herb layer species are at an altitude of2000 m ~ 2100 m and 2500 ~ 2600 m.
