Research On Online Thematic Maps System Design Considering User Characteristics

With the rapid development of Internet technology and spatial information technology,the network map has changed the source and transmission mode of traditional map information,and has gradually become an important way for people to obtain geographic information.As a new type of map product,the function and form of network map are rich and varied.More and more map users of different ages,map use experience and professional knowledge background use it.For the network thematic map,it has more professional features than the ordinary network map,and can not be widely accepted by users.The traditional "cartographer-centered" network thematic map mode cannot have satisfied the need of the network of thematic map design,need more considering the operating characteristics of different types of map users and its appeal to participate in the process of mapping.Based on the theory of network map design,such as map space cognition theory,map information transmission theory and map perception theory,with the network of thematic map system considerinng user characteristics design as the research object,mainly on the following aspects:(1)Elaborate the theory of network thematic mapping.Firstly,the theory of visual variables,scale system and thematic map representation are studied.Secondly,according to the development trend of network map,the relevant theories and principles in network map design are expounded.(2)Research on the classification model of user characteristics of network thematic map.Firstly,the size and type of the users of the network map are surveyed and analyzed,and the typical characteristic attributes of the user level are determined.Secondly,the typical characteristic attribute of the user is quantified,and the questionnaire of user characteristic recognition is designed on the user registration page of the system.Finally,from the aspects of interface,functionality and map visualization mechanism design of network map design for user classification model,formed considering user characteristics of common framework of network thematic map design.(3)Based on the proposed network map design framework,this paper puts forward the design of the online map system of Chinese history plague.Combined with the characteristics of Chinese historical plague data and the functional requirements of plague thematic maps,separately carried on the detailed demand analysis,system architecture design,the overall design and database design.(4)Development and implementation of the Chinese historical plague online thematic map system considering user characteristics.Using a series of WebGIS technology,establishing of B/S architecture of the Chinese history plague online thematic map system.Experiments and tests show that:on the one hand,the user can be personalized in the system of historical plague information of the qualitative,quantitative symbol expression,to a certain extent,participated in the map mapping process,improving the availability of online thematic map system.On the other hand,the system version based on user classification has better adaptability to different types of users,and improves the efficiency and enthusiasm of users to use the online thematic map to acquire and excavate historical plague information.At the same time,the design framework of the network thematic map system,which takes into account the characteristics of users,also has some reference significance for other types of online map visualization system.
