Located in Damiao Village Laochang Town Tianquan County, Gangoutou Debris Flow(GDF) shaped in the"4.20" Lushan Earthquake which triggered the hill collapes and caused the slump, leaving a great deal of debris in the gully, that may easily lead to mud-rock flow with continous storm. Currently, GDF possibly threatens 169 villagers of Group 1 and 2,who are living in Damiao Village. Based on detailed prospecting materials, gathering related materials home and abroad, the paper has analyzed the conditions of topography, debris provenance and water source, by collating the conditions of geological environment of GDF area, which is divided into forming section (clear section), debris provenance section and potential piping section. The feature of each section has also been discussed in the paper. On this basis, the paper has drawn a conclusion by standard and methods related that GDF is a mediumsized, easy-occurred, clayey, valley-shaped stormy debris, and the paper has also analyzed its moving features like the unit weight, flowing speed, scale and shocking force, presenting a reasonable and feasible control project. As the dangerous area and all the protected objects gathered in the valley entry, the paper considered the influence by the "4.20" Lushan Earthquake ,presented three projects, according the thinking of " reinforcing the valley bed, fastening the debris provenance and blocking the debris flowing".The first project is" one retaining dam and two blocking dams”,“ channel the quakelake and fix the debris provenance valley " as the second and “ one retaining dam and protecting walls" is the last one, which is comparatively the best. Build a retaining dam in the downstream area (at K3+150) to hold back the upflood and reduce the peak flow. Set up protecting walls along the banks of downstream area where roads farmland may possibly damaged. The walls must be high enough to control the flood at its inquired highest level so as to provide a sufficient protection for the inhabitants downstream.
