Study On Taxonomy Of The Lichen Genus Porpidia From China

Porpidia is characterized by crustose thallus,lecideine apothecia,branched and anastomosing paraphyses,Porpidia-type and 8-spored asci,halonate,hyaline and simple spores.And they are the key features to distinguish Porpidia from close genera.The lichens of Porpidia is taken as the research object in this paper.The experimental materials for this research are about 400 specimens which were deposited in the herbaria SDNU,KUN and HMAS?L,and collected from all over China.The specimens were examined and identified by combining the morphological,chemical and ecological features.A total of 17 Porpidia lichen species were identified:P.crustulata,P.hypostictica,P.macrocarpa f.macrocarpa,P.macrocarpa f.nigrocruenta,P.shangrila,P.soredizoides,P.squamosa,P.superba,P.thomsonii,P.cinereoatra,P.lowiana,P.albocaerulescens var.albocaerulescens,P.albocaerulescens var.polycarpiza,P.carlottiana,P.hydrophila,P.grisea,P.speirea,P.tuberculosa,P.flavicunda.One of them is new to science: P.hypostictica.The molecular phylogenies of Porpidia in China were studied based on ITS,?-tubulin and mtSSU.The Porpidia species fell into three major clades,which were proposed as three groups ? P.albocaerulescens group,P.macrocarpa group and P.speirea group,each of them was strongly supported.
