Research And Application Of Town Toponymic Database Construction Maintenance

With the development of urbanization and the continuous improvement of information level technology in china,our country’s urban and rural geographical landscape have undergone enormous changes,it had been appeared new and old geographical names,non-standard names frequently appear,making urban and rural social management and environmental management governance gradually increase the difficulty.Therefore,in order to strengthen and improve the construction management of place names in the new period.On 23 January 2014,the State Council issued a notice to carry out the second national census,access to the fastest and most comprehensive and accurate to identify the existing situation of place names.The place-name database is one of the most important results of the second national place-name census,compared to the first national survey of geographical names database,the construction goal,updating and maintenance of the geographical names database have higher requirements and standards.The use of modern advanced GIS(Geographic Information System),LBS(Location Based Service)and database and other technologies is more efficient and high quality to complete the construction,updating,maintenance and the application for the results transformation of the place-name database.It became an inevitable requirement to improve the management of urban place-name and service levels.This paper takes the geographical names census as a sample area,based on the results of the second survey of geographical names in Hefei,using GIS,database management and other technical methods to carry out the research on the construction,updating and maintenance methods and the application of the results transformation of the place-name database.This paper is focuses on the study in the following aspects:(1)Through the analysis of the demand of the construction of geographical names database,based on the ArcGIS Engine10.1 and SQL Server2008 platform,design the data structure and attribute data structure of the place name database,and realize the construction of the Hefei place name database.(2)In the background of the current "Internet plus" and mobile GIS technology has become more mature,this paper proposes a method to update the geographical names database based on mobile GIS technology;designs two modes to update and maintain the geographical names for the public and professional technicians.Practice proved that the method of updating and maintaining the place name database based on mobile GIS technology can improve the collection efficiency and the update rate,it provides a guarantee to build the geographical names database that can meet the demand of era,high completeness and processing,and it has the promotion significance.(3)This paper discusses the service application of the geographical names database by analyzing the management requirements of the geographical names database and the status quo of geographical information public service platform in Anhui province.Developed the Hefei geographical names information management system based on CS and Hefei geographical names query service system based on BS.The geographical names information management system achieve the application to manage effectively the geographical names database and to take an analysis from space,the service system to query the geographical names provides a more comprehensive and perfect service to query the geographical names for public,it not only can query the basic information of geographic location and contact information,but also query the names of history,meaning,name used before,origin,Abbreviation and so on.
