As a sign of the level of soil science,the soil taxonomy is based on diagnostic characteristic of soil and the relationship between soil characteristics and soil formation in the diagnostic layer with quantitive,systemtic,standardized,and it has been widely used as a vehicle for soil information exchange both at home and abroad.The soil series information system is one of the application branches of geographic information system,as a set of human-computer interaction visualization technology system with data management,spatial analysis and information service based on GIS technology and database language,its data objects are soil datas.It helps the soil workers to dig deeper into the soil Information,improve their capacity of soil mapping,resource monitoring and evaluation,nutrient management.The establishment of soil information system is of great significance to promote the sharing of soil resources.The study is supported by the special program for foundation research of national science and technology,“Soil Series Survey in China and complication of Soil Series in China”.In this paper,176 soil profiles were excavated in the region of Shaanxi province,and the results of soil system classification were completed by field investigation and laboratory analysis.According to the requirements of soil system classification,the topological information of soil information is reconstructed from top to bottom.Based on this data source,the information system of Shaanxi Province is established.The main contents are as follows:Soil classification information reconstruction: Soil classification information is compiled according to the structural structure of Order-Suborder-Group –Subgroup –soil family-Soil series system.The soil of Shaanxi province belongs to 7 Orders,14 Suborders,42 Groups,67 Subgroup,176 Soil series,the classification and division of the soil system conforms to the standard.Construction of soil information database: The spatial data of soil map,DEM,water map and administrative division map of Shaanxi Province were processed by using the spatial distribution of soil profile,and the geodatabase was established by using Geodatabase.Based on the background information of soil system,the name information of soil system,the chemical properties of soil system,the physical properties of soil system and the landscape information of soil system,the logical relationship between the system and the soil profile is established,According to the principle of database design,a relational database system based on SQL Server2012 is constructed.After the application of soil number to achieve spatial database and attribute database in parallel.The establish of soil series system information inquiry system: To satisfied the user's needs and scientific management needs,also adapted to design priciples,the structure and function of soil series information query system were designed by the foundation of soil series information datsbase.Then the C # computer language was used to develop this inquiry system on ArcGIS Engine 10.2 platform with the environment of VisualStudio 2012.After the system debugging and optimization,we completsed the initial construction of the soil series information query system of Shaanxi Province.This system GIS's basic function,such as the spatial query and attribute inquiry,data management,spatial analysis,data export and other functions.
