By the survey of the wild plants, there are 248 species (including 13 varieties、3 forms) belonging to 56 families and 163 genera in Kubuqi Desert. Among them, there are 2 species of Pteridophyte belonging to 1 family and 1 genus,2 species of Gymnosperm belonging to 2 families and 2 genera, and 244 species (including varieties and forms) of Angiosperm belonging to 53 families and 160 genera. Angiosperm accounts for the major part of the composition, accounting for 98.38% of total plant species in the area, the next are Pteridophyte and Gymnosperm, accounting for 0.81% and 0.81% of the total respectively. Compositae has the most plant species, having 35 species belonging to 19 genera; second is Leguminosae with 25 species belonging to 13 genera, and next is Chenopodiaceae, having 25 species belonging to 13 genera, and next is Gramineae, having 24 species belonging to 18 genera, the plants of these four families account for 38.65% of total genera and 43.95% of total species. There are 4 families containing more than 13 species, accounting for 43.95% of total plant species, there are 11 families containing 4 to 12 species, there are 15 families containing 2 to 3 species, and 26 families have a single species.13 families having a single genus in Kubuqi Desert and 9 families which having a single genus in Inner Mongolia are added up to 22 families, account for 59.09% of total wild plant families in Kubuqi Desert. The most abundant genera is Artemisia containing 13 species, followed by Corispermum with 5 species, Suaeda with 4 species, Astragalus with 4 species, Caragana with 4 species, the species of these five genera account for 18.40% of total plant species. There are 4 areal-types and 3 subtypes of plant family; there are 15 areal-types and 9 subtypes of plant genera; there are 10 areal-types and 19 subtypes of plant species, the flora mainly covers temperate element. Plant life forms contain 1 species of tree,2 species of parasitic plants,3 species of vines,15 species of subshrubs,35 species of shrubs, and 192 species of herbs, there are mainly herbs, accounting for 77.42%. There are 4 water ecotypes, and they are 4 species of hygrophytes,7 species of hydrophytes,117 species of xerophytes and 120 species of mesophytes, there are mainly typical mesophytic herbs, accounting for 48.39%. The Kubuqi Desert has highest similarity coefficient with Badain Jaran Desert, the next are Hunshadake Sandy Land, Mu Us Sandy Land and Tengger Desert. In Kubuki Desert, there are 9 China Rare and Endangered Species targeted by important protection, belonging to 7 families and 9 genera, such as Ammopiptanthus mongolicus, Prunus mongolica, calligonum mongolicum, Ephedra intermedia, Glycyrrhiza uralensis, Haloxylon ammodendron, Potaninia monogolicum, Tetraena mongolica, Populus euphratica. There are 31 species of protected plants belonging to 22 families and 29 genera on district-level of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in Kubuqi Desert. There are 31 species belonging to 22 families and 29 genera on above district-level (including national level), among of which,1 species of Pteridophyte belonging to 1 families and 1 genera,1 species of Gymnosperm belonging to 1 family and 1 genera, and 29 species of Angiosperm belonging to 20 families and 27 genera.
