This paper mainly relies on remote sensing technology. The basic research foundation is data from 2000 to 2018.The methods used are the use of land for comprehensive utilization transfer matrix,Sen+Mann-Kendall method, and correlation analysis. The area is the Kubuqi Desert.Through research, the land use law and the spatiotemporal characteristics of vegetation change in this area are obtained, and the conditions that affect the growth of vegetation are discussed.Theoretical research is used to protect the ecology of this area and even areas with similar conditions in the world.Land use and urban development provide a theoretical basis. The results and conclusions of the study are as follows:(1)In terms of time, the vegetation index has fluctuated and increased in 19 years, reaching its maximum value in 2018,around 0.34;spatially,the distribution of the vegetation index is zonal, with higher in the northeast and higher in the southwest. On the low side, except for the northern edge, the vegetation index gradually increases from west to east in the Kubuqi Desert.(2)The vegetation in the study area has been generally better since 2000,and the area of improvement is greater than the degraded area. The degree of vegetation coverage in the area is generally low,but it is on the rise. The average vegetation coverage rate for many years is 29.1%.The vegetation coverage has declined in the bare soil and low vegetation coverage grades, the medium vegetation coverage and high vegetation coverage have increased, and the stable fluctuations are basically unchanged in the middle and low vegetation coverage grades.(3)The temperature, precipitation, and relative humidity in the meteorological factors are related to the NDVI of the area.Among the meteorological factors, the most relevant factor to this value is relative humidity, and the least relevant factor to this value is temperature.(4)The area of woodland, grassland and water bodies in the region is increasing, and economic development has led to an increase in construction land in this area, but the increase is less than the total increase of woodland, grassland and water bodies.Land use changes are affected by human activities, and the ecological environment is generally improving.
