Araneidae is the third largest groups of spiders and distributed in many environments.According to World spiders Catalog(Version 17.0),there are 169 genera and 3109 species reported of Araneidae.And in China there are 46 genera and 383 species.In this article we describes the specimens collected from Guizhou and Hunan Province of Wuling Mountains,in all there are 13 genus and 36 species.We provide lots of high resolution photos of bodies and external genitals of these species.And we also described and discuss intraspecific varia-tions of some species.This article is divided into 4 parts.First is the introduction.In the introduction the auther,based on the databases,the con-sult literature and academic monographs,makes a brief introduction of the Wuling Mountain area firstly,then described the history,characteristics,and research importance of Araneidae.Second is description of each species.In this part we describe morphological characteris-tics and external genitals of these 36 species,and we also offer the measurement datas of the-se specimens.As well we describe the species which have variants.In the third parts,we give the taxonomic results:a new discovery of male Neoscona xishanensis Yin et al.,1990,and another 11 new distribution:Argiope pulchelloides Yin et al.,1990,Araneus tengxianensis Zhu et Zhang,1994,Araneus wulongensis Song et Zhu,1992,Araneus menglunensis Yin et al.,1990,Chorizopes nipponicus Yaginuma,1963,Cyclosa confuse Bosenberg&Strand,1906,Plebs oculosa(Zhu&Song,1994),Mangora song-yangensis Yin et al.,1990,Hypsosinga sanguinea(C.L.Koch,1844),Neoscona mellotteei(Simon,1895),Neoscona Pseudonautica Yin et al.,1990.And we also reported another type of Chorizopes nipponicus Yaginuma,1963.In the process of collect and classification,we encounter some problems,and the auther give own proposals and idea.Last,we present the photos of whole body,external genitals.
