Study On Baudrillard's Thoughts Of Technological Culture Criticism

As a world influential philosopher in twentieth Century in French,Jean Baudrillard had numerous works in his whole life.Baudrillard's philosophic thoughts are complicated,especially his thought about technological development involves a series of practical problems in today's Chinese society.Based on the study of Baudrillard thoughts, the critique of technological culture thoughts is explored in this article to provide important reference for us to think about the technical and social issues in contemporary society.This article aims at providing analyses and assessments on Baudrillard's thoughts of technological culture criticism to reveal the inspirational significance of his thoughts.This article is divided into three parts:Firstly,this article intends to elucidate theoretical origin and development process of Baudrillard's thoughts of technological culture criticism.Baudrillard's thoughts of technological culture criticism are continuation of Lefebvre's daily life theory, deepening of Debord's landscape social theory, application of Barthes'semiotic analysis method and reference of Mcluhan's media cultural theory.Baudrillard's thoughts of technological cultural criticism experienced three stages:the first stage is the object becomes a symbol, the second stage is the criticism of the mass media and the third stage is criticism of high technology.Secondly,this article endeavors to tease out basic contents of Bardrillard's thoughts of technological culture criticism which contain three stages:analyzing how the object becomes a symbol;criticizing the mass media;criticizing the high technology.In first stage,Ba-udrillard explicates the concept of obgect,analyzed the object becomes a symbol to criticize symbolization of objects.In second stage,based on specific theoretical background Baudrillard analyses the mass media technology and its impact on society.In third stage,Baudrillard criticism of high technology embodies in the citicism of "fatal stategy" and "perfect cime".Finally,this dissertation purposes to assess Baudrillard's thoughts of technological culture culture criticism.It is manifested as pessimistic weak technical determinism in first stage and media determinism in second stage,then turn into Strong technological determinism and Naturalism attitude of anti-technology.His houghts of technological culture culture criticism are profound with unilateral.This study examined Baudrillard's critique of technology culture to promote our multi-understanding of Baudrillard's theories and provide analysis and reference tool for the further understanding of the social development in current China.
