The 20 th century is an era of the decline of the West and the crisis of rational culture. In this era of frequent wars and prominent technical problems,Carl Jaspers confronts the real problems and reveals the living conditions of human beings. In technological thinking,he borrowed the ideas of Marx,Weber,Nietzsche and Kierkegaard and elucidated the technological problems from the perspective of historical philosophy and survival philosophy. At the same time,he explores the essence, connotation and significance of technology from the perspective of instrumentalism and anthropology. He understands technology as a tool or means.Technology is good and evil-free.It is a tool that needs guidance. He dialectically analyzed modern technology. He believed that modern technology promoted social development and restricted the development of human spirit.Jaspers believes that modern technology has become a living style of human beings, but the era of science and technology is not a new era of Prometheus. The alienation of technology and the expansion of technological rationality lead to people's living predicament. He believes that the key to solving technical problems lies in human beings, who call for love, reason and communication.Jaspers' analysis of technological problems is a cultural and philosophical concern. His technological concept is the unity of scientific and technological rationality and humanistic rationality. His view of technology should not be simply defined as a "theory of technological neutrality",but should be understood as a "new humanistic view of technology".Jaspers' technological outlook is humanistic and transcendent, and also has the limitations of the times. The study of Jaspers' view of technology is helpful for us to examine modernity, and to provide a research perspective and a solution to the current technological problems.
