The Coordination Analysis Of Economic Development And Financial Support In Chongqing’s Main Functional Area

“The Main Functional Area Planning” is the first national medium and long-term overall planning of territorial development, also the new national strategy of regional development. To perfect the work of main functional area planning and construction on provincial level is the crux of solving problems such as the disharmony contradiction of area economics and unreasonable industrial distribution. As the core of modern economy, the finance plays a very important role in resource allocation and economic leverage. Therefore, to do research on relations between economy development and financial support from the main functional area level has important theoretical and practical significance on establishing a reasonable financial support framework and improving financial services.Chongqing is the only municipalities in central and west of china as well as the “National Urban and Rural Comprehensive Refrom Pilot Zone”. It has big cities、large rural areas、large mountainous regions the three gorges reservoir areas and ethnic areas there, which reveals that ”dualization” is a characteristic in urban and rural areas. For optimizing resource allocation and balancing urban and rural development, Chongqing has published its “Five Functional Areas” development strategy on September 2013 already. Therefore, this paper took the theories of financial development as theoretical base, collected 2009-2014 economic and financial data in Chongqing’s 38 counties and built up a evaluation system on economic development and financial support in Chongqing’s main functional area, proposed policy suggestions on how to improve the coordination of economic development and financial support.This paper has five parts:Part one introduces the research background, significance, method, content, structure, innovation and deficiency.Part two includes a review about relevant theory and literature. Beginning with the financial development theory, this part mainly explains financial structures, financial repression, financial restraint and financial function theories.Part three analyzes current situation of economic development and financial support in Chongqing’s main functional area. This part sketches out current situation of economy development and financial support in Chongqing’s main functional area and identifies the existing problems.Part four makes an empirical analysis on coupling between economic development and financial support in Chongqing’s main functional area. By establishing an evaluation system on economic development and financial support and using the entropy method and coupling model, this part puts forward some suggestions based on evaluation result.Part five draws a conclusion and prospects of the study. This part summarizes the whole paper, and prefigure future works logically.
