The 21 st century is a century of global competition on quality. The application of quality management for economy improvement becomes most country’s national policy. China is becoming “the factory of the world”, the quality management to the quality of products and to the manufacturing industries is very important. Quality management, as a method for economy management, can help not only to satisfy consumers, but also reach the economical level.A enterprise a private shareholding high-tech enterprise mainly engaged in researching, developing and manufacturing petroleum exploration instrument and petroleum machinery. The main products of the company include mud logging unit, drilling apparatus, blow-out preventer(BOP) and control system, wellhead & charismas tree, analyzing apparatus for petroleum products, production logging apparatus, logging service.In this research,theories and applications of continual improvement in quality management in both domestic and abroad was summarizes first.It was then focused on the relevant factors for continual improvement in A Enterprise,aimed at present situation with existing problem in quality management.A well-rounded study was analyzed for both internal external environments in getting the feasibility of this objective in an A Enterprise.It will point out that zero defect management based on TQM is the most effective approach and method.The thesis consists of seven chapters:Chapter 1 briefly introduces the research background,meaning and purpose of this study, the research status,research and research methods,and decided to discuss zero defect management based on TQM from the mutual relation between personnel quality, scientific method and management.Chapter 2 briefs general conditions of enterprise A, and expounds challenges imposed on quality management of the enterprise. Besides, it proposes what to improve by analyzing factors of quality management.Chapter 3 elaborates how zero defect management should thread human resources. At first, all the members of staff, especially the management personnel and front line operators, should bear zero defect management in their mind. Besides, experiences in TQM and zero defects should be promoted through QC group activities.Chapter 4 argues that zero defects should be achieved through management of the manufacturing process and the auxiliary production process.Chapter 5 gives living examples about enterprise A adopting scientific PDCA loop for zero defects. To enhance production efficiency, the development division, quality technology division and the production division of enterprise A pulled together and improved the products based on the scientific management mode of PDCA loop. At last, the expected results were achieved and the successful experience was generalized in other fields.Chapter 6 elucidates the complementary relationships between personnel quality, scientific methods and management systems. It is exactly their interactions that ensure the zero defects.By consulting large quantities of quality management related literature both at home and abroad, the author analyzed existing quality management theories and current application both at home and abroad, and made clear the focus and significance of the research. Then the author made a field investigation into the real situation and existing problems of enterprise A. What’s more, with the application of theories on TQM and zero defect quality management, the author helped enterprise A strengthen its competitive edge and enhance economic effectiveness. In this way, the core competitiveness of the enterprise was reinforced.
