Q petrochemical company is a large state-owned enterprise which is a subsidiary of the SINOPEC. After more than 50 years of development and construction, it has become a crude oil processing capacity of 5 million tons / year refinery and it has become the unique refinery with processing high total acid number crude oil. The auxiliary facility of Q petrochemical company is complete. At present, Q petrochemical company is facing restructuring and transformation, in the survival and development of key stage, human resources as the key factor for enterprise competitiveness, how to play and mobilize the employee’s work performance is particularly important.Based on the study of domestic and foreign performance management theory and the analysis of petrochemical refinery performance evaluation case, using literature analysis, questionnaire, interview, comparative analysis and other methods, the investigation of the Q petrochemical company employee performance appraisal and background analysis, such as employee satisfaction is not high, the index set does not meet the job characteristics, the lack of effective guidance of performance assessment,statistical methods backward problems of current employee performance evaluation mode, and according to the problems above, the optimization design of the Q petrochemical company employee performance appraisal system, mainly includes: the system design ideas, objectives and principles, assessment content, assessment process,performance results application etc..
