It becomes a critical problem to companies on how to retain excellent employees and how to attract talent people. People have realized that human resource is core competition recourse in an enterprise after more than 10 years management research and practice. In the meantime, human resource management plays a crucial role in cultivating core competitions of an enterprise.Performance management is one of important factors in human resource management. A good performance appraisal system not only enables the whole team's performance improvement, but also provides a reliable resource of C & B (Compensation and Benefit) management. Therefore, to a large extent, the purpose of performance management is to improve performance. Meanwhile, the main method of improving performance is the proper incentive system design and then effective implementation.I took SL Company as the case study to do the research in my essay. The recommendations on performance appraisal improvement have been made to SL Company after a deep dive analysis in the company. It exposes the current incentive method adopted by SL Company and problems existed through practice studies as well as the concerned theories, i.e. performance management methodology, incentive theory, object management technology and so on. Corporate performance appraisal is a judgment to management evaluation. Wherefore, it is dynamic under different scenarios. Management should adopt different contents and methods in different corporations or in different departments of the same enterprise. It also enlarges the difficulties of designation on the objective establishment and management system. In a real process of performance management, it has no standard appraisal template for an organization owing to different evaluation purposes and different objectives. It has to establish a scientific system being adapt to the economic market and comprehensive changing environments. As a result, a corporation can achieve the management innovation finally.
