Development Status, Crisis And Future Analysis Of Beef Cattle Industry In Eastern Inner Mongolia

Inner Mongolia autonomous region has its own history, geography and natural environment. More especially, agricultural industry has some specificities. In eastern Inner Mongolia, agriculture and animal husbandry occupy large portion of the territory. In Tongliao area, herdsmen rely mainly on pasture and resources in livestock production; the mode of production is more traditional and rely mainly on a combination of corn planting and beef cattle breeding.It appears that cattle industry is not yet efficient and developed to its full potential in inner Mongolia. This will be made clear through our macro approach. Experts, academics, officials all agree that the cattle industry is suffering from some difficulties and are developing some answers to change the cattle industry in inner Mongolia. Using new technologies could really improve the efficiency of production. Out of these recommendations, a blue-print is established to enhance the efficiency of the production and the cattle market.From these ideas and recommendations, we will inquire into the micro situation of household farming to try to identify among which of the different production practices of inner Mongolia is the most efficient and which recommendation we should follow. Our econometric model is built on data collected for 200 herdsman family during 3 years (2013-2015) and is taking into account variables such as number of cattle, land area, income or allocation of time, etc..This will provide some insights about how to improve the situation of the cattle industry and of herdsmen in the future.
