Research On The Lean Production In The Assembly Workshop Of SG Company

Lean production is the advanced operation model for the manufacturing companies, more and more companies deployed lean production with China’s reform and opening up. Lean production is driven by customer demand and to eliminate wastes by continuous improvement, so that the companies could get a significant achievement on cost reduction and operation efficiency development with the least investment. After joining the C Company, SG Company utilized the Lean Production System as the unique workshop management method. Through 5 years of deployment, it has made great improvement and benefit about safety, quality, efficiency and cost.Shop floor is the location for manufacturing company to conduct specific production process and operation activities, workshop management will affect the performance of safety, quality, efficiency and cost. All the value added operations are implemented in the shop floor. Establish a standard of value stream management system base on the guideline of Lean Production System and continue to find and eliminate the waste in the manufacturing process, the company will achieve lower cost, higher quality and shorter delivery time to meet the customer’s demand. One company could enhance the competitive ability by the excellence workshop management. With SG company TTT (Track Type Tractor) manufacturing process establishment, the author would like to take the opportunity for the creation of TTT assembly workshop management structure through the study on Lean Production System. Pilot the system in the operation practice and Value Stream Transformation including logistics and Kanban, layout, Andon, eight kinds of waste elimination, and setting up the metrics template to track the performance. Form a standardized operating system and it can also provide a standard template that could be replicated for other workshops management.
