Acetate Sheet Utilization Improvement In H Company Six Sigma Project Implementation

With the labor cost soaring up continuously and the fierce competition among the enterprises, many enterprises are facing the challenge of survival, which has facilitated they are hunting for numbers of methodologies to improve their productivity accordingly for saving money. The aboard and domestic study tells that applying the six-sigma projects management can effectively improve the productivity and increasing the unit output. However, it lacks the one particularly for eyewear industry, ad hoc on the raw material of the acetate frame, or only theoretically but short of practice. This study applies the DMAIC methodology of Six-sigma and project management tools, to discuss the utilization rate of raw material that H company is in the situation its high waste. Besides, recommendations are made at the base of the outcome from the project implementation.After reviewing the reference, on the ground of DMAIC model of Six-sigma, the study adopted SIPOC to identify the critical waste periods of the whole process, and tried to diagnose the key factors by brain-storm & fish-bone. Afterwards, it was concluded they are the width of raw material, width of embryo and it layout, cutter and fixture, combing the application of CE matrix to analyze. Concentrating these factors, the study adopted the theory of project management such as Planning, Team, Budgeting, Communicating and Quality Management to improve purposely, and consequently lower the cost, improve the finance performance.The study and the project implementation map that, the improvement for those factors analyzed from DMAIC model of Six-sigma, saying the width of raw material, width of embryo and it layout, cutter and fixture, H company effectively benefits not only on its finance numbers directly because of the better productivity, but also is led its production processized and operation standardized. Meanwhile, good quality is strengthened and employee’ morale boosted.
