| Six Sigma is an enterprise flow design, improvement, and optimization technology evolved all-around quality management method, it provides a series of new product development tools applicable to design, production, and service. The management method has been proved to be highly effective in a variety of practical application. In such a situation, through inducting and extending Six Sigma management, a scientific research institute continues improving, strives to be the first class, and enhance customer’s satisfaction level.A certain type of product is a representative product of a company. With a high popularity in the customers. With more and more products being produced delivered to the customers, appearance quality defect problem in life cycle is becoming a common complaint from the customers and one of the issues that should be solved by the quality department. in order to eliminate quality deficiency at the source, and fulfil product appearance quality as significant improvement measures, the paper, through taking induction and application spreading of Six Sigma as context, cutting in from domestic and foreign research status of Six Sigma, discussing Six Sigma theory and application, fully analyzes faced situation and problems needing solving. In combination with quality work emphasis and Six Sigma improvement project, and surrounding decrease of fault-omission inspection rate for product appearance quality to expand Six Sigma improvement research, through implementing DMAIC improvement method and utilizing corresponding tools to solve quality problem, we have effectively reduced fault-omission inspection rate for product appearance quality of this type of product, decreased the cost, and promoted work quality and efficiency of inspectors. The implementation of the project sets a good model for improving appearance inspection of the similar products and enhancing appearance quality, and it can be extended to the inspection of the products in different areas. |
