At the beginning of21stcentury, a lot of companies in the world, including somebig companies in China started practicing Six Sigma. But a few years later, some ofthe companies did not get success as expected, and some of them had different voicesfor Six Sigma, even to doubt the effect of Six Sigma. Then, what are the root causesof that? How can Six Sigma get good business result in company? What are the keyfactors of success? How can D company make Six Sigma better? These questions arewhat this thesis is going to study and to get solution.The author of this thesis consulted a lot of conferences at home and abroad, onthe basis of well-known of the latest study research findings, the author expoundedthe origin and growth of Six Sigma firstly, also expounded the Six Sigma practicemethod and the key factors of success, then he introduced the Six Sigma methodologyand the main tools which are used in Six Sigma projects.On the basis of theory in the first2chapters of this thesis, in chapter3, the authorintroduced the relationship between Six Sigma and the Quality&Production System(QPS) of D company, then he introduced the implementation method, the goodpractices and improvement opportunities of Six Sigma in D company. These contentsare valuable to readers, especially to those companies which are preparing or just getstart for Six Sigma.In chapter4, the author introduced a real Six Sigma project in D company, whichsolved the production issue with DMAIC methodology. This is the example for SixSigma project in D company, also readers can know how Six Sigma project getimplemented in D company from this example and can get more understanding forSix Sigma application and DMAIC improvement model.In the last chapter of this thesis, the author made a summary of this thesis andlooked into the future of Six Sigma application in D company.
