In today’s fierce market competition, all companies should try their best to optimizetheir internal business, improve their technological capabilities&management level.They also need to meet the customer needs and achieve customer satisfactionmaximally. Even E Company, the leading global manufacturing company, also need tocontinually improve itself. It should continually improve their working methods&work flow to better meet customer requirements and to get more customers’ ordersfinally. In E Company,the main function of project management is to set up acommunication link between internal manufacturing factories and the end users, toplay a communication, coordination and control role in the whole process of theproject.Firstly, the article explains the concept and development of Six Sigma. It elaborateson the meaning, characteristics, advantages and the implementation of Six Sigmamanagement. It also highlights that the Six Sigma management method plays animportant role in problems solving and practices guidance. The article explains theconception and working method of Six Sigma DMAIC circle, which includes5stepsas Definition, Measurement, Analysis, Improvement and Control. It also introduce thegeneral job content and conception for each steps of DMAIC. The article also givesthe definition and interpretation of project management. For the Project TimeManagement which is related with this article, make a detail explanation about it.Combined with the actual situation of the project management in E company, articleintroduces E company’s background, project management responsibilities and thegrowth experience. Introduce the mode and method of project management in Ecompany, and describe the process and current problems of project management in Ecompany. Make an analysis of the main problems of project management in Ecompany, which is the project cycle time is too long, it is also the most importantcomplaint from customers. We follow Six Sigma DMAIC circle to make animprovement on that. In the define phase, select a nuclear power station project asexample. And determine the project initial state as the starting point for improvement.In the measure phase, draw the project flow chart, and calculate duration of each stepof the project and the total project time. In the analysis phase, make an analyze of the relationship among the steps, to confirm whether the actual relationship displayedamong the steps and the flow chart of F-S relationship are consistent; it also make ananalysis of3longest steps and try to shorten the project time. In improvement phase,based on the results of the analysis phase, adjust the relationship among the steps andredraw the project flow chart. And for project phase3long time, some specificimprovements are made to shorten these3steps duration. In the control phase, usingthe YJ#4project as a test, to verify the project improvement results. The final result isgood.Finally, make a summarize and expectation of this Six Sigma improvement. Try tomake a combination of Six Sigma and Project Management, and to improve theProject Management and slove the problem in Project Management.
