Total Productive Maintenance, usually abbreviated TPM, meant participation of integrated production and preservation activities (or meant activities of the production management). Yuchai co., LTD (YC) was introduction of its management in 2010, after years of practice and improvement, machine rate of production line was lifted from 56% to 75%, and the equipment failure rate was drop to 18.4% from 32%, comprehensive score of TPM System was from 4.82 points to 6.96 points, initially formed the effective equipment management system of engine manufacturing plant.With the introduction and development of lean production, and customer oriented pull order mode of production, to the time management requirement of the production process is more and more precise. Traditional dominated by later maintenance mode of equipment management, gradually cannot meet the requirements of JIT. So how to combine lean six sigma data analysis system, introduction of TPM management idea, rapid increase capacity of equipment, and reduce equipment failure rate, establish a preventive maintenance-dominated TPM management system, and meet the requirements of lean production, is in favor of equipment management in YC company.The author attempts a thorough analysis of the data analysis method of lean six sigma and TPM management theory, combining YC company equipment management status quo, focusing on problems of YC company equipment management, Firstly, use lean six sigma data analysis method, collected data from YC equipment operation process, and apply the measurement system analysis, the flow chart of the IPO, the C&E matrix analysis, FMEA, regression analysis, the general linear model analysis, methods of DOE test, etc.., search for the best solution from the technical level to realize the rapid decline of equipment failure rate. Secondly, according to the TPM management concept, from the five dimensions of basic security, prevention, security, security skills, to develop effective methods of TPM system, and apply it to YC company’s equipment management system building, establish a preventive maintenance-dominated TPM management system from the management level, finally realizes the lift of machine rate, and meet the requirements of lean production.This paper and the conclusion has a great guiding significance to the TPM system building of YC company, and it also has certain reference significance to other manufacturing enterprises on how to combine with the idea of six sigma management method and TPM management, and establish the company’s equipment management system.
