Lean Production (LP) and Six Sigma are two most popular production modes nowadays.With the development of theory and practice,people are trying to find out a production mode that has the advantages of LP and Six Sigma and goes beyond them. But so far, people have some different viewpoints on Lean Six Sigma (LSS). Some viewpoints are wrong. Many companies don't know how to implement LSS to get the result of 1+1>2.The Thesis firstly describes the theories of Lean production and Six Sigma management. The advantages and disadvantages of the two modes are pointed out through comparative study. This thesis discusses the necessities and feasibilities of the synergies between Lean methods and Six Sigma. And it addresses some key successful factors of Lean Six Sigma application, such as focusing on the system, process management. Specifically, the use of a combined road map is used to illustrate in one examples how adding either one to the other can accelerate or amplify the results achieved. Then the thesis presents Lean Six Sigma implement process, including: define the problem, measure the problem, analyze and identify the gap, implement solutions, standardization and review progress. At last, the thesis gives two examples of Lean Six Sigma application in company G, including project training, project selecting, project auditing and choosing the right methods and tools. It also summarizes the characteristics of successful application Lean Six sigma in company G.
