Along with the development of construction enterprises in recent years, preference of corporate profit to internal performance management has begun to go into reverse. More and more enterprises of this kind have started to realize the importance of performance management to enterprise development, and have begun to bring performance management into their strategic plan.A subway engineering department of state-owned construction decoration enterprise C Company located in Q City introduced BIM technology in 2015. This technology can help simulate a building construction process three-dimensionally or four-dimensionally, and define construction content and progress prior to construction. This paper took this subway engineering department of C Company as an object of study, deeply analyzing the problems existing in the performance management system of this subway engineering department, and building a new performance management system for this subway engineering department based on the advantages of BIM technologyThis paper started with a brief description of the relevant research background and an elaboration on the related theoretical knowledge of performance management, as well as the characteristics and values of BIM technology; it then analyzed the present status and problems of the performance management system currently adopted by this subway engineering department under the guidance of relevant theories; afterwards, it redesigned the performance management system of this subway engineering department based on BIM results using KPI and MBO approach in performance management method; finally, it commissioned this redesigned performance management system in this subway engineering department, and then evaluated this new performance management system in accordance with the implementation effects. Compared to the existing departmental performance management system, this redesigned system helped this engineering department improve its monthly output and staff’s job enthusiasm during the test run, basically achieving the expected effect of system reconstruction. Of course, some problems and defects were exposed during the test run, so this system needs to be continuously adjusted and improved in the coming practice. This paper’s analysis of the performance management system currently adopted by this subway engineering department of C Company and the performance management system redesigned apply not only to this subway engineering department, but also to all front-line engineering departments of C Company, and can help advance performance management in all the front-line engineering departments.
