With the booming development of tourism, there exists a growing demand for tourism professionals, and the expertise level of the personnel is a major index of the tourism competitiveness between nations. The vigorous development of the industry is coupled with a great demand for junior and intermediate managerial staff and service personnel. Graduates with certain theoretical level and dexterous hands are best suited for this. Faced with unprecedented opportunities and challenges, the department of tourism service and management in secondary vocational schools is the major force in nurturing tourist professionals. Yet, the current development status of the department is not encouraging, and the curriculum design in particular has a gap between the professional evolution, students’development and employing units’needs, which is worth urgent improvement in order to meet the need.With the guide of cognitive science, humanistic theories and constructivism, department of tourism service and management in separate three secondary vocational schools are chosen as main research subjects. Employing the existing problems in curriculum design as clues, the present author conducted the research by combining sampling survey with personal interviews. The current situation of curriculum design in Chongqing secondary vocational schools is manifested from the aspect of curriculum goals, curriculum contents and curriculum implementation. According causes are deeply analyzed and suggestions for curriculum design of the department of tourism service and management in Chongqing secondary vocational schools are proposed.The study aims to stimulate the development of the curriculum design of the department of tourism service and management in secondary vocational schools so that it can better satisfy the needs of social development and the employing units’needs for talents cultivation.hopefully, it can provides reference for later development curriculum design of the department of tourism service and management in secondary vocational schools.This paper is divided into six parts:The first part is an introduction. This article describes the topic reason, purpose and significance of the research, writing ideas, content and methods, the core concepts, as well as at the theoretical basis and innovative and shortcomings. The second part is the status of secondary vocational schools in Chongqing Investigation Service and Tourism Management Curriculum. The third part is the problem of secondary vocational schools in Chongqing tourism services and management Curriculum and cause analysis. The fourth part is secondary vocational schools in Chongqing tourism services and management Curriculum Policy. The fifth part is the conclusion. He summarized the main problems of secondary vocational schools in Chongqing tourism services and management Curriculum and the reason analysis, the strategy of the Curriculum of the basic principles and ideas and curriculum.
