| TEC Engineering Company (Nigeria) Limited (hereafter referred to as "Company") is among the early companies in response to "go global" development strategy of the State, registered in Nigeria in December 2000 with main business scope in project contracting. Affected by myriad factors in terms of the appreciation of RMB since July 2005, the global financial crisis in 2008, the continuous global down trend of world oil prices since March 2012 and the complex economic and political status in Nigeria, the development of Company has been confronted with plateau phenomenon. It is the current strategic study of the Company to address myriad difficulties and challenges in the course of searching for a sustainable and wholesome development.This article, after a brief introduction of the Company, first presents an overall analysis of the external environment of the Company by the means of PEST analysis method and Five Basic Competitive Forces Pattern invented by Mr. Michael Porter. And it has also analyzed the influence of Internet on the strong competitive engineering contracting industry and drawn the conclusion that the external macro-environment is in the favor of development of construction trades. The contractors of project contracting trades will be facing an ease external environment where opportunities outweigh challenges.Secondly, by analyzing the internal environment of the Company in terms of resources and capabilities, it points out that the Company has highlights and competence in the project contracting market. It has, on one hand, the project storage ensuring sustainable development, and on the other hand, is equipped with quite a number of fixed assets in terms of machines and equipment. On top of that, it possesses its own sophisticated management method as essential management means and perseveres in pursuing the right development road of localization management.Through the analysis of internal and external environments of the Company, this article constitutes the SWOT strategic analyze matrix by means of SWOT pattern analysis and sorting various factors out of analysis and teasing by influential or pressing extents. Applying the comprehensive analysis method of system analysis, it puts forward the innovations, looks ahead based on the current situation, takes advantages, overcomes disadvantages, makes profit of opportunities, eliminates threats and combines the sorted and considered myriad environmental factors matched up. And it draws the conclusion of the strategic options of the Company. Then it makes strategic decision and assessment and picks out the appropriate and feasible development strategy for the Company.This article holds the view that the Company must persist in localized management and running, hold on project contracting, adhere to sophisticated management of project and persevere in the road of attaching equal importance to the projects of state government and federal government. Continue growing and become stronger. Avoid by all means striving in grandiose development. Expand business of project contracting in neighboring countries as Niger and Chad.In the end, referring to this strategy and in the light of the actual status of the Company, it elaborates on the implementation and guarantee strategies in eight aspects of risk prevention and control, business development, project implementation, financial control, organization development, human resources, emergency plan management and performance of social responsibilities. |
