The competition among ports gets fiercer and fiercer, International economic and trade have become increasingly frequent, resources and capital flow with the global trend, logistics industry grows quickly, it presents the trend that more and more large ships have been built and put into use in shipping industry. How to seize the opportunities in economic globalization, face the challenge from the neighboring ports, grasp the opportunities and challenges brought by the rising demand for dry bulk cargo, and develop the dry bulk cargo logistics? All these issues need to be solved urgently.The article firstly analyzed dry bulk cargo, ports, logistics and strategic theory, and then summarized the characteristics of dry bulk cargo logistics and the status of the domestic and foreign dry bulk cargo logistics development, followed by a comprehensive analysis of the external environment and the internal conditions of Yantai Port Group by the use of SWOT strategy analysis and PEST analysis.
