The aim of the Thesis is to analyze the development of the Sino-Slovak Economic relations, from it’s historical moments to recent stage of cooperation, and propose recommendations for it’s further improvement. It aims to analyze current stage of trade and investment exchange between Slovakia and China, as well as it’s future perspectives within the Chinese initiatives CEE 16+1 and One Belt One Road. Furthermore, it describes major cases of recent Slovakia-China economic relations, and Slovakia’s participation in the projects of CEE 16+1 Initiative and One Belt One Road Initiative.The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter analyzes the Slovakia-China economic cooperation from its beginning to the present stage. The second chapter pays more attention to current activities of the CEE 16+1 Initiative, in particular Slovakia’s participation in projects of this initiative. The third chapter analyzes China’s economic initiative One Belt One Road, its progress, challenges and Slovakia’s involvement in this initiative. The last chapter provides recommendations for improvement of Slovakia- China economic cooperation in the context of current political events in Slovakia and China.
