Food is that people can survive and thrive in the basic material information; on the other hand and due to food safety issues have become increasingly prominent; so food safety naturally became the focus of public concern. To protect people’s life and health. In some developed countries, the food safety regulatory system reform has g one through hundreds of year’s history, its food safety related laws and regulations, technical standards and system have become more and more perfect. While China’s food safety is still at the initial stage, so it is necessary to learn from the regulatory system in developed countries, to find suitable for our own food safety supervision system.In view of the problems existed in the supervision of food safety in China, this paper first uses the external characteristics of the food safety analysis, again from the perspective of information asymmetry of choice between producers and consumers. And on the regulation of food safety in China from the four aspects of the analysis, then draw lessons from successful experience acquired by the developed countries in food safety supervision, and puts forward the measures to effectively solve the problem of China’s food safety supervision. This has a practical significance for the protection of China’s food safety, but also to deal with the problem of food safety in China is a major challenge of the theoretical basis.Introduction, the main content is the research background, research significance, domestic and foreign literature review and research methods, etc.In the first chapter, it introduces the relevant theories of government regulation of food safety, and defines the core concepts related to food safety. Due to the externality of the food safety makes the "expulsion of inferior food quality food; and due to the food safety information between producers and consumers in the information asymmetry problem, so that consumers can not make the right choice.In the second chapter briefly summarizes the five stages of China’s government food safety supervision system, and comparative analysis of the preliminary results of the reform of China’s food safety regulatory system.In the third chapter, for the status of China’s food safety, first of all, from the four aspects of the analysis, that is, food cultivation, production, processing, circulation, consumption links. Then, the causes of runaway and ineffective regulation of food safety supervision in China are studied.In the fourth chapter, we introduce the food safety supervision system in detail, and summarize the characteristics of the United States regulatory system, as well as the place where we can learn from it.In the fifth chapter, first from the reform of China’s food safety regulatory system, improve the system of laws and regulations and improve the standard management system. Then in view of the problems existed in the China’s food safety countermeasure analysis, finally, combined with and learn from the successful experience of American food safety supervision, countermeasures and measures for the supervision of food safety in China are summarized.
