Product Optimization Process Research For Eaton

With the development of civilization, business and manufacture model changed every day. From the goods lacking to surplus, the quality of human’s life improved a lot. After entered 21st century, the trend of individuation becomes more and more clear. The manufacture model with old and high-quantity for one model should be knocked out. And more and more companies will face the basic product optimization problem, and the product optimization ability will be the core competence of the company.The original product development project management process is long and redundancy. Though it seems compatible and integrate, it couldn’t meet the requirement of lead time and accuracy. A specialized process for product optimized process should be designed to speed up the project schedule and meet tough requirement from customer.This article guided by two exact example from Eaton’s internal daily operation. The optimization project is about Screw-in Cartridge Valve, and after analyze the project, lead to four tough rocks for optimization project. Also, integrated with four characteristics of the optimization, this article designed the new project process, controlled the risk points and solved all the project operation problems.
