Since the reform and opening up, China has done a lot in building agricultural informatization, developing agriculture, increasing farmers’income and pushing rural economy and society forward. Both the economic and social benefit has become greater and greater as a result of the agricultural informatization construction. Researches of agricultural informatization at present are locally about specific provinces or districts, which were not helpful in knowing the level of agricultural informatization within the whole country. Therefore, it is necessary to make a precise calculation about the developmental level of agricultural informatization within each province. In addition, new ways should be find to solve the problems in the informatization process. Thus, we could appropriately solve different problems, and the whole level of the agricultural informatization could be improved as we perfect the measures in agricultural informatization construction and improve the level of the agricultural informatization within less developed areas.The research contents of this paper are as follows:evaluation criteria of agricultural informatization are selected from the previous documents, and then the transformation laws are found out as those criteria have been changed with time, thus we could elaborate the development history and the evolution course of those evaluation criteria; data of the important criteria over the past decade are gathered and contrastive analysis is conducted within different regions which contain 31 provinces and cities; an integrated evaluation index system is established by identifying the evaluation criteria and evaluating the importance of those criteria; evaluating the developing level of the 31 provinces and cities over the past 10 years with the integrated evaluation index system and conducting the contrastive analysis within different regions, and then bring forward the problems and the corresponding solution based on the evaluation result.The main research method of this paper is time-lapse technique. The research about the development history of the evaluation criteria within agricultural informatization is done and the importance of each criterion is evaluated through qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, combining expert scoring method with analytic hierarchy process (AHP). As a result, an integrated evaluation index system is established, by which the level of agricultural informatization in each province over the past ten years can be evaluated and the contrastive analysis within different regions can be conducted.According to the research, we can see that evaluation criteria of agricultural informatization are various and highly targeted, and that each of the criteria is changing rapidly and the evaluation criteria of different regions are in imbalance. As different factors are interacting with each other, agricultural informatization in our country is developing in accordance with our economy. And from the research, we can know that the developmental level of our agricultural informatization is uneven and it needs to be promoted on the whole.There are some deficiencies in this research. The subjective consciousness is hard to avoid in reorganizing, analyzing and normalizing of evaluation criteria as the criteria are various and complex, and thus the collection of the evaluation criteria should be more comprehensive, proper and reasonable in the later research. The data collection in this research is completely manual entry, and in order to guarantee the quality and the integrity of the data, the follow-up research should involve a wider data source. With an insufficient personal competence and a limited way of getting data, some of the evaluation criteria are ignored, which should be consummated in the follow-up research in order to get a better measuring result. During the research of the measurement of agricultural informatization within 31 provinces and cities (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) over the past decade, the same evaluation criteria is applied, ignoring the differences among different districts, thus a special evaluation criteria should be applied for each research object in the following research to get an accurate result.
