The Study On Land Circulation In The Scale Cultivation Of Tobacco In Yunnan Province

Large-scale cultivation of tobacco leaves is to improve the quality of tobacco leaves, an d to allow the tobacco production in a stable, coordinated and sustained direction of develop ment. However, land circulation impact the large-scale cultivation of tobacco, and it is an im portant issue which should be resolved urgently. In this paper, the land circulation of large-sc aled cultivation tobacco in Yunnan province was investigated by methods of resourcing and f ield researching. Main results of the conclusions reached are as follows:1. In rural area, there are five modes of land circulation as subcontract, lease, sharehold er, exchange and transfer. In large-scale cultivation of tobacco area of Yunnan province, shar eholder (tobacco farmer cooperative) is the main land circulation mode, account for 45.5%; f ollowed by the subcontractors, account for 38.5%; exchange, account for 13%, lease and tran sfer account for 2% and 1% respectively.2. After the implementation of a large-scale cultivation, there is a significant improveme nt of the quality of tobacco leaf in land circulation area, where the proportion of high-quality leaf increases by 3.8% compared to non-circulation area.3. After the implementation of a large-scale cultivation, there is also a significant reduct ion in manual work for tobacco production in land circulation area, where the needed manpo wer per hectare is 197 days, instead of 492 days in non-circulation area. Therefore, the manp ower saved is as much as 295 days.4. After the implementation of a large-scale cultivation, the tobacco production has incr eased expressively in land circulation area. As a result, remarkable economic benefits have b een achieved. Compared with non-circulation area, the tobacco production improved 17.7kg per 667m2, and production value increased 361.0 yuan.5. Also found in tobacco cultivated on a large scale in the land circulation area, tobacco farmers have some concerns about the management of land circulation and the incomplete pr otection mechanisms related, and so on.
