Analysis Of R&D Investment And Performance Of IT Enterprise

The research and the application of new technology is the soul of the information technology enterprise. In 2012, the R&D intensity of China surpass the European Union for the first time, when compared with developed countries, it is much lower than the average. Obviously, Chinese IT enterprise should continue increasing the input of R&D to enhance the capacity of independent innovation. Reviewing the independent innovation achievements of our IT firms in recent years, the situation shows that under the large-scale investment, achievements of the high quality innovation is very poorly, some key technologies could not be mastered by themselves. How the R&D of Chinese IT enterprise is going on? Whether the R&D investment contributed to promote the profit of the company? How to improve the performance of the R&D investment of the IT firms? These will be the main problems and purposes in this research.Based on case study method, INSPUR GROUP will be the case in the paper, which is the typical example of the IT enterprise. Inspur Electronic Information Industry company and Inspur Software company will be important research object. Combining with the contrastive analysis of the case enterprise and industry to measure the R&D investment of IT enterprise, evaluate the influence of R&D input for corporate profitability and technology level, and estimate the performance of the R&D input. Then find the problem, summarize the experience and put forward the solution.The main structure of this paper consists of five parts. First, in introduction part, it introduces the research background, research methods and ideas. Second, literature review part explains the theoretical basis, define the industry scope and concept, and then organize the existing research results. Third, case description part points out the main problems of case and the hypothesis and specification for following analysis, introduce the R&D strategy of Inspur group, and describe the financial situation of the two listed companies during 2007-2013.Fourth, case analysis part, firstly calculate the R&D input in two aspects, secondly analyze the influence of the R&D input for profitability and intangible asset, at last, compare the case enterprise with major competitors. Fifth, it is conclusion and suggestion part.The study indicates that the R&D input has significant influence on economic efficiency of enterprises, but the lack of cost-control affects the result of the R&D input ultimately. Under guidance and support of the government, the R&D intensity of IT enterprise has increased, but the overall level still need to be improved, Enterprises should deepen the cooperation with the research institutions, pay more attention to improve the quality of research staff and strengthen, Especially improve the internal control of the R&D, increase the efficiency and the performance of the R &D team, finally improve the efficiency of the R&D input.
