“Only those who are capable of recognizing and developing talents can truly govern the world.” Both the fate of the country and the future of the company are closely related to talents. The fully exertion of supervisors’ connective function directly determines the implementation of corporate strategy and employee engagement. The analysis of supervisor cultivation method in Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group(XCMG) is an elementary leadership improvement project, which targets all supervisors in the group. From the perspective of the demand of developing corporate strategy, this project illustrates the necessity of building leadership training system and analyses the successful cases of various large-scale companies who have established advanced leadership training system. Through learning from worldwide leadership development achievements and the excellent practice of advanced enterprises, the idea of building XCMG supervisor leadership training system is formed. This project is also one of the talents training and cultivating projects(Blue Managers, Blue New Power, Blue Ocean Project, Golden Engine, Golden Blue-collar and Golden Stage) of XCMG human resources department in 2014. The implementation this project in the group involves all the manufacturing companies and platform companies controlled by XCMG.Through survey, critical behavioral incidents analysis and some other techniques, this project firstly explains and analyses the present leadership cultivation system and the current leadership standard in XCMG. From comparative analysis, this paper shows the urgent demand of planning the leadership cultivation system of supervisors in XCMG and puts forward the improvement directions. In this paper, it is also proposed that it is necessary for XCMG to build the supervisor competence model and curriculum system of and to form the fixed formalized supervisor cultivation and certification system, which is the Sailing Project--Navigating Project--Long Voyage Project. At present, this is the first case of supervisor leadership cultivation in China. In addition, the implementation and verification of this supervisor prior certification project will lay the foundations for the advancement of middle management and top management leadership project in the group.
