With the deepening of reform and opening-up in China, enterprises turn to bestandardized and specialized. After the accession to WTO, China’s enterprisesfaced with more intense challenges.Currently S company is in the venture period, how to analyze the company’sstrategic environment and how to generate the development strategies that suitedto its ability and competitive market environment in China’s complex and highlyirregular emerging management consulting market, as well as making itselfinvincible in the brutal competition have become the biggest challenges for Scompany.The paper would combine the competitive environment of the managementconsulting market and the strengths and weaknesses of S company to conduct acomprehensive analysis, in order to generate a long-term development strategyfor management consulting business in line with its development.This paper introduces the development of management consulting industry, andanalyzes the current situation and the existing problems of the consultingindustry in China, and explains the background and significance of this paper. Inchapter2, this paper introduces the related background of S company andexpounds the challenges which S company faces for management consultingbusiness in China, including the simple marketing method, low visibility, lack ofrecognition of management consulting among domestic enterprises, narrowcustomer base and the shortage of professional management consulting talents.Then use the Porter’s five forces model to make a macro environment analysisfor management consulting industry, explored the competitions and threatswhich the management consulting industry is currently facing and introduces Scompany’s main competitors in China market. In the meanwhile, use the SWOTanalysis to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of S company. Then design theoverall strategy for S company and suggest which development strategy shouldadopt, as well as generate the implementation strategies for those specificproblems faced by S company in chapter5. The implementation strategies areincluding how to strengthen the core competitiveness, improve the visibility inChina, reposition the target customers, optimize the product portfolio, expandmarketing channels and also explain what kind of company they should establishthe strategic business relationship, how to adjust the concept of employment.The paper could be used as a reference for S company and other similarmanagement consulting firm.
